What it is
Some items we buy aren't for selling. We use them to run the store, like thermal paper rolls, carry bags, cleaning supplies, and price tags. When you take these items out of stock for store use, you must record a Goods Expense in Zeev.
Why it matters
If you don't record it, the system still thinks the item is in stock. Our stock count will be wrong, and the cost of running the store won't show up in our reports.
When to create a Goods Expense
You open a new box of thermal paper rolls for the billing counter
You take cleaning supplies from the godown for the store
You use packing material or carry bags for store operations
When NOT to use it
Damaged or expired goods meant for sale (use the damage/wastage entry instead)
Items given to customers as free gifts or samples, unless your manager tells you to
Example
The store buys 50 thermal paper rolls, and a GRN adds them to stock.
The billing counter needs 5 rolls.
Create a Goods Expense for 5 rolls.
Stock now shows 45 rolls, and the 5 used rolls are recorded as a store expense.
